Longtime Aotearoa/New Zealand producer Kraus has been a fixture in various underground North and South Island circles for 20 years, and his solo music has covered a lot of ground in that time. In recent years he’s shifted focus from guitar-based recordings to synthesis-oriented electronic work; an approach that blooms in full color on Fire! Water! Air! Kraus!, his 19th full-length album and first all-electronic affair.

Kraus obsessives will once more revel in the inventive use of melody and texture, as well as the primitive futurist fusion of eastern/western psychedelia. Tonal explorations of electronic pioneers like Suzanne Ciani and Laurie Spiegel and careening synth pop of Martin Rev also feature heavily.

Fire! Water! Air! Kraus! is a joyful, immersive listen ,and we’re thrilled to share it with the known universe.

When it comes to Omit i only have the 5xCD compilation on Pica Disk so we are not talking about a major gap in my little record collection but a black hole when it comes to this very fine artist. Omit somehow manages to produce vast journeys into his sonic universe with a minimum of sounds and even if some of his track are 20 minutes long they evolve almost without you noticing it and that is one of the things that makes me like Omit and like him a lot at that.
